The Melbourne Summer Cycle is committed to conserving resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting our environment.

Our Ecological Footprint was calculated after the 2009 event and we have identified how our resources could be used more efficiently to reduce the carbon and ecological footprint of our event.

How we are green:

  • On-line registration system
  • Recyclable participant bibs
  • Printing and paper cost reduction
  • Recyclable cups at rest sites
  • Suppliers and equipment sourced locally
  • Event signage re-used
  • Recycling bins at start/finish site

How you can be green:

  • Register on-line
  • Ride/car pool/catch public transport to and from the event
  • Bring a re-usable drink bottle to the event
  • Use recyclable bins at start/finish site
  • Place your litter into bins provided
