Matched Funding

Many companies have a matched funding program whereby they will match dollar for dollar the amount you or your team fundraise. Even if there is currently no such program in place, many companies are more than willing to make a donation and support their employees as they are also supporting a good cause. All you have to do is ask!

Who to ask

Speak to your HR department and ask them if your company matches funds raised by their employees or has a program in place to donate a certain amount to the charitable causes supported by employees. Let them know what you will be doing (cycling 40km) and what you hope to achieve (your fundraising target) for people living with multiple sclerosis.

How to ask

The best way to ask is in person. Face to face is the best way to communicate your message, your fundraising goal and to ask for support. If this is not possible, send an email or call the appropriate person (and follow it up). If they want a letter or email outlining your proposal they will let you know (they may have supporting documentation they will ask you to fill out).

Why not offer to put your company's logo on your page (or your team page) and to publicise the fact that you are receiving support from your company. Everyone that visits your page will see the fact that your organisation is doing something great!

Put together a proposal to show you are serious about asking for their support. It makes sense to follow the same principle of any client or supplier that is looking for their business or investment you have to build a case for it.

How we can help

We can supply any information or official documentation they may need on behalf of MS Australia. We can also send letters stating the amount you have raised and will also send them a letter of thanks and a certificate after the event.

If they grant you matched funding then let us know and we will publicise this on our marketing emails (if desired) so everyone will know they are showing their support for you!

Other ways to get your company involved

If not through matched funding, your employer may like to make a company donation, organise staff to volunteer, promote fundraising for you (or your team), pay for staff entry fees, organise company branded merchandise or a team site at the finish.
